It's about being in the moment, being curious about the outcome. What I enjoy about this way of &nbsp;working is that it is fun and full of surprises. It means, there are no mistakes. If something unexpected happens in my creation, or something I think should have been different, I can use it to my advantage and create something around and with that so-called mistake. It's fun and relaxing, as nothing can go wrong.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; font-size: medium;"></div><div style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; font-size: medium;"></div><div style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; font-size: medium;"></div><div style="text-align: center; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;"><img src="http://www.atouchofzen.com.au/resources/img/blog_img/7140/Dare_to_Fly_Finished.jpg" width="300" height="227" alt="" />&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: center; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;">"Gathering Minutiae" - This painting was selected for exhibition at &nbsp;the "Confluence" exhibition at the Manning Regional Art Gallery from 18 Nov 2016 to 15 Jan 2017.</div><div style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;">&nbsp;</div><div style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;">One style of my artworks is strongly&nbsp;<strong>inspired by Zentangle.</strong>&nbsp;I have been fortunate to have had private sessions with a Certified Zentangle Instructor in Sydney, that have helped progress my work.</div><div style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;">&nbsp;</div><div style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;">The other influence has been June Rollins Alcohol Ink Dreamscapes.&nbsp;<strong>Alcohol Ink washes</strong>&nbsp;<strong>on non-porous surfaces&nbsp;</strong>lend themselves to intuitive, spontaneous work. This was most inspiring. So, you'll see some more Zentangle inspired drawings from me in the near future. All my artworks are also available as prints that can be shipped worldwide. Contact me for more info. Looking forward to share my current drawing wave of tangles. Enjoy!</p> Fri, 17 Feb 2017 19:44:37 CST Jewellery and other painted craft items <div> In the past weeks I have been creating some beautiful terra cotta diffuser pendants on a&nbsp;leather band. These pendants can be infused with the essential oil of your choice and the scent is right there for you to benefit. I have small samples of oils that can go with them to make beautiful gifts for someone.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>I have also been creative with Alcohol Inks on various non-porous materials, e.g. metal washers, ceramic tiles, glass pendants to make necklaces and decorative tiles.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>From my paintings have been making greeting&nbsp;cards for any occasion with space to write your own text.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Here are some photographic samples, though not complete as I have some displayed in&nbsp;our local art cafe.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><img src="/admin/../resources/img/blog_img/7140/1_web.jpg" alt="" width="540" height="805" align="left" />&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><img src="/admin/../resources/img/blog_img/7140/2_web.jpg" alt="" width="540" height="399" align="left" /></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><img src="/admin/../resources/img/blog_img/7140/3_web.jpg" alt="" width="540" height="460" align="left" />&nbsp;</div> Fri, 17 Feb 2017 19:42:45 CST Alcohol ink on Yupo I've been having fun creating new artworks using alcohol inks on Yupo, a synthetic, tree -free, bio-degradable paper, which I am thoroughly enjoying. It's a very intuitive way of working, as the interaction of the ink on the yupo has its own way of flowing. Patience is helpful as I noticed how wet ink keeps creating new patterns and if I interfere too early, I might destroy a naturally created pattern that's really interesting. Check out my new gallery on Sea-scapes and Earth-scapes, and you might want to return to my website from time to time to check out new artworks... Enjoy! <br /> Fri, 17 Feb 2017 19:38:53 CST Moon-Scape In my last blog, I wrote about an art work I had started nearly a year ago and which came into my hands again about two months ago. I had a fresh look at it, new ideas emerged and new creativity&nbsp;came to my imagination when I looked at it. Not all&nbsp;Artliners work well on&nbsp;acrylic paint and especially since I had used texture paste mixed with acrylic paint. I&nbsp;layered the gel paint pens, going over the lines several times. It subsequently took a long time to dry... But&nbsp;finally it was what felt to me finished and I was happy with it. After several layers of varnish, I framed it and you can see the result on my main page. Enjoy. Let me know what you think. Fri, 17 Feb 2017 19:34:23 CST
